Andrew McGregor, the founder of the LA Chessboxing club, explains the sport and talks about the first sanctioned bout in North American history, which he won by checkmate in the 5th round.
About Chessboxing
Chessboxing is a new sport in which one round of chess is followed by one round of boxing in alternating rounds for 6 rounds of chess, 5 rounds of boxing. A round of chess takes 4 minutes and boxing rounds are 3 minutes. Each competitor has 12 minutes on the chess timer. A checkmate or knockout wins.
